MILESTONES 1986-1990 1991-2000 2001-2009 AWARDS

 

 

1991
• Aksyon Ngayon, the first-ever DZMM program dedicated to public service, soars to the top of the ratings list.

1992
• DZMM tops all other AM Radio stations in the Metro in the Philippine Survey Research Council.
• The station receives three awards from the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA): Best Radio News Commentary, Best Entertainment Program, and Best Public Service Program.

1993
• In November, “Pulis, Pulis Kung Umaksyon, Mabilis” is launched. It aims to inform the public of the workings of the Philippine National Police, anchored by Noli de Castro.

1994
• The station receives four major citations from the 4th Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards: Best Radio Public Service Program, Best Radio Drama Program, Best Female Public Affairs Host, and Best Male Public Affairs Host.

1995
• DZMM’s radio documentary, “Ang Kasaysayan ng Radyo sa Pilipinas,” is the first radio special cited by three celebrated award-giving bodies: CMMA, KBP Golden Dove Awards, and Golden Pearl.

1996
• DZMM wins the “Best AM Radio Station” category of the 6th KBP Golden Dove Awards.
• In November, “Jeep ni Erap” is launched, with Vice-President Joseph Estrada as anchor. The program tackles issues concerning the masses.

1997
• In December, a new segment called "Hoy! Tubig!" airs on DZMM, the station’s answer to the El Nino Phenomenon.

1998
• DZMM vice president Noli de Castro re-introduces the station as “DZMM Radyo Patrol Sais Trenta.”
• For the fourth year in a row, the station receives the “Best AM Radio Station” award from KBP Golden Dove Awards.
• In September, DZMM starts airing the comprehensive traffic updates through “Sky Patrol,” with Ricky Velasco as its traffic reporter.

1999
• In February, the prestigious Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard) cites DZMM’s “Iwas Dagdag-Bawas” and “Oplan MM ‘98” campaigns as “Outstanding Public Service Messages,” besting more than 100 entries from different advertising companies and broadcasting networks.
• The station stages the first AM radio-sponsored fun run, “Run For Your Heart,” and airs “Opinyon ko, Pakinggan Mo,” the first live airing of public opinion on the hottest issues of the day.

2000
• DZMM tops the KBP Coincidental Radio Survey in the primetime block besting all other AM radio stations in Metro Manila.
• Renamed, “Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan,” the station’s fun run is made bigger and better.
• In November, “Ang Paglilitis,” the impeachment coverage of DZMM Radyo Patrol becomes the public’s first source of information on the impeachment proceedings against President Joseph Estrada.
