ALEX SANTOS 
Hailed as the “Best Male Newscaster” in the 2007 Star Awards for Television, Alex Santos is currently a senior reporter for ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs group covering general assignment beats like politics, crime, and environmental concerns. For DZMM, Alex now anchors Radyo Patrol Balita Alas Kuwatro with Jasmin Romero. He was previously assigned to do the hourly newsbreaks and was then offered to anchor Radyo Patrol Balita Alas Dose and Gising Pilipinas with Cheryl Cosim.
Alex earned his bachelor’s degree from the Ateneo de Davao University. In 1993, he started as an anchor-reporter for TV Patrol Mindanao. In 1996, he transferred to Manila as news editor for regional stations under the Sarimanok News Network of ABS-CBN (now ANC). In 2005, Alex started anchoring TV Patrol Weekend Edition. He also became part of Alas Singko Y Medya Weekend.
On television, Alex is one of the hosts of ABS-CBN’s morning magazine show Umagang Kay Ganda. He is also part of the weekly investigative program XXX with Julius Babao and Pinky Webb and TV Patrol Weekend Edition alongside Bernadette Sembrano, where he closes the program with his now famous line, “Pilipinas, umasenso ka!”
