AMBET NABUS

Ambet Nabus is a well-known showbiz reporter, sports and entertainment columnist, publicist, and radio anchor. He currently anchors DZMM’s weekend showbiz programs, Showbiz Extra on Saturdays and Chismax: Chismis to the Max! on Sundays alongside TV host and fellow showbiz columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal.

Born and raised in Daet, Camarines Norte, Ambet went to Mercedes Central School and Mabini Colleges for his elementary and high school studies, respectively. Armed with innate intelligence and his passion to succeed, he moved to Manila to study at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications major in Broadcast Communication. Ambet managed to become a presidential scholar while he was in UP Diliman because of his good academic performance.

Ambet began working with DZMM in 2004 and officially joined in 2007. According to him, being part of DZMM is great as it gives him a different kind of fulfillment. He was co-anchor of Cristy Per Minute then became a pinch-hitter for other showbiz-oriented programs What’s It All About Alfie and It’s Show Time!

Prior his career in showbiz, Ambet was a marketing manager for Uniprom Inc., a member of the Araneta Group of Companies. He also served as publicist for several popular consumer brands and for PBA teams and personalities. As a columnist, Ambet writes for Bandera, Bulgar, People’s Balita, Pinoy Parazzi, Daily Tribune, among others.

Ambet’s other special interests include scriptwriting and hosting. And when not at work, he spends his free time singing, swimming, playing badminton or volleyball, and collecting old books, photos, and articles.
