ANGELO PALMONES

In Through his perseverance and professionalism, Angelo Palmones managed to rise from the ranks and became DZMM’s Station Manager and Director for Special Projects of the Manila Radio Division.

Angelo graduated in 1987 at Notre Dame College of Kidapawan with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Economics. He worked in a local radio station in Cotabato then in DZXL Radio Mindanao Network, before moving to DZMM where he became the News Manager in 1994.

Dubbed as “Mr. Science and Technology,” Angelo believes that through science, there is hope for the Philippines. He is a strong advocate of people empowerment through science and technology. In fact, he is the co-founder and first president of the Philippine Science Journalists Association, Inc. and the first recipient of the Science and Technology Hall of Fame Award given by DOST. Through his award-winning educational show, “Bago Yan Ah!.” he has educated and empowered millions of the uninformed diverse audiences to become more productive through the utilization of technological advances and scientific methodologies.

Awarded by KBP Golden Dove Awards as “Best Public Affairs Host” in 2001 and “Best Newscaster” in 2002 and 2004, Angelo initiated a number of projects for DZMM, including “Oplan MM (Malusog na Mamamayan Medical Mission)” and “Takbo Para sa Kalikasan.” He has written and published four books, and he is currently teaching at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Angelo currently anchors Radyo Patrol Balita Alas Dose with Ricky Rosales and Bago ‘Yan Ah!
