BOOTS ANSON-ROA
Maria Elisa Anson-Roa, or “Boots” as she is fondly called, graduated from the University of the Philippines where she took up AB Speech and Drama in 1964. She then took up certificate courses and study grants from various countries, including basic journalism, TV production and public and media relations.
In the past, she was more inclined to treasury and finance, after taking up Banking and Marketing in the United States. She then worked in Washington D.C. as Marketing Director and Financial Officer. At present, she is an assistant professor at different universities in the country, including UP, Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle University to name a few. She is also busy doing community-based services, and fulfilling her advocacies behind the camera.
Boots is one of the best actresses and hosts we have in the Philippines, having garnered innumerable awards and recognitions from different institutions. She was also given Lifetime Achievement Awards by FAMAS and Star Awards, for all her contributions to the media industry.
In 2002, she first anchored the program “Boots Talk” in DZMM. She now anchors the program Music and Memories, Sundays, 1PM to 4PM.
