ATTY. DANNY CONCEPCION

Usapang de Campanilla co-anchor Attorney Danny Concepcion graduated valedictorian both in elementary and high school. He finished Agricultural Engineering, summa cum laude, at the De La Salle Araneta University in 1979. That same year, he was also a topnotcher in the board exam.

He studied Law at the University of the Philippines (UP), graduating cum laude in 1983, and once again topped the bar examination he took that year. He left the country to earn his Master of Laws degree from the University of London in 1986, as a Chevening scholar. Upon his return to the Philippines in 1987, he was invited to join the Faculty of the UP College of Law, where he is presently a professor of civil law, commercial law, and a bar reviewer in civil law.

Atty. Danny was elected member of the Interim Batasang Pambansa in 1978 and served until 1984 as a representative of the youth sector. He was the youngest Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission, until his resignation in the year 2000 to become the president of De La Salle Araneta University on loan from the University of the Philippines. He was then recalled by UP to serve as associate dean of the UP College of Law, supervisor of the UP Law Center, and director of the Institute of Judicial Administration.

“Atty. Danny Con,” as he is fondly called by his colleagues and listeners alike, joined DZMM in 1996 as a co-host of Compañero y Compañera, which was later renamed Usapang de Campanilla with co-anchor Cheryl Cosim.
