NOEL ALAMAR

Noel Alamar, co-anchor of Ito ang Radyo Patrol, Saturdays, started his career with DZMM as a volunteer. Soon after DZMM came back on air in 1986, Noel, in his capacity as Vice-President for Operations of Targa Communications, Inc. volunteered his services to the station.

His break came when he was tapped to air daily traffic reports. From then on, Noel was tapped to cover bigger events, like elections, failed coup attempts and the 1991 killer earthquake. He also reported on the bombing in the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia as he was there at the time it happened.

From being a volunteer reporter, Noel became DZMM’s correspondent for Southern Tagalog where he received citations not only from the Philippine National Police and local government officials in the area.

Now, Noel is Radyo Patrol 38  - covering beats from all parts of Metro Manila for a year before he got assigned to his present Defense beat. Noel was in almost all the major coverages – from the battlefields of Sulu to the war-torn provinces of Maguindanao, Cotabato, Lanao and Basilan. His coverage of the Manila Peninsula stand-off got him arrested together with other media personalities

Noel, aside from his reportorial and anchoring duties with DZMM, also gets invited as a lecturer and a resource person with the Philippine National Police and various colleges and universities.

Noel’s many talents include composing, arranging and song writing. He was formerly in a band, playing drums, guitar and was also its vocalist. He collects guitars and loves cycling.
