NORMA MARCO
Norma Marco loves to talk. Even at a young age, she had aspirations of being a disc jockey. She played at cueing records on their turntable at home, and it eventually damaged their phonograph. Her inclination towards radio was honed when she got married, as her husband worked with a broadcast station. Now, even the kids works for DZMM as an executive producer.
Norma started her broadcasting career at a government station in 1979. She anchored a 4-hour midnight program for seven years and at the same time, she was given the opportunity to have some exposure over the program, ‘Good Morning, Manila’ then aired over PTV-4 as segment host.
In 1987, ABS-CBN became Norma’s new home on-air. She co-anchored a program with Mario Garcia. She later moved into the slot vacated by Tia Dely Magpayo. After a couple of years, she partnered with the late Kuya Cesar Nocum for a program in the same timeslot.
In 1993, Norma became DZMM’s ‘Midnight Lady’. She got assigned to the 12MN to 4AM slot.
When TFC or The Filipino Channel was launched in 1995, Ate Norma found herself chatting not only with listeners from different parts of the country but from different parts of the United States.
She took a break from broadcasting to live abroad and when she came back and after a stint in another station, Ate Norma is back at her on-air home, anchoring Private Nights.
