JASMIN ROMERO

Jasmin Romero may be new in DZMM, but not in the broadcasting industry. She has been a familiar face on television and a recognizable voice on radio through her several news, public service, and sports-oriented programs.

A graduate of AB Legal Management from the University of Santo Tomas, Jasmin pursued a masteral degree in De La Salle University where she earned several units in Communication, major in Media Applied Studies.

In March 2002, Jasmin worked as traffic reporter for trapik.com. From 2003 to 2004, she was hired by the Philippine Broadcasting Service-DZBR Business Radio as anchor and executive producer. In the same year, she co-founded the internet radio station, Philippine Internet Broadcast International (phibi.com), where she served as anchor and executive producer.

She joined the National Broadcasting Network (NBN) in July 2002 as anchor, host, reporter, and producer. At her six-year stint at NBN, Jasmin hosted for the shows One Morning, NBN Sports, and Minuto. Meanwhile, as radio announcer for DZXL RMN Manila 558, she co-anchored Sports Talaga, RMN News Nationwide, and its primetime news commentary program Taumbayan Naman. In 2007, Jasmin was acclaimed as “Best Radio Newscaster” during the 17th KBP Golden Dove Awards.

DZMM hired Jasmin in May 2009. She currently anchors hourly newsbreaks DZMM Balita Ngayon and Radyo Patrol Balita Alas Kuwatro with Alex Santos. In July, she was named sports reporter.

Jasmin said, being part of DZMM inspires her to be at her best all the time. “It is a privilege and a blessing to work with the number one AM radio station in the country. I value the opportunity to help the public by giving them the information they need to make better choices in their lives.”

During her free time, Jasmin loves to read, write, travel, and discover new hobbies. Her sports interests include swimming, volleyball, triathlon, cycling, and basketball.
