HANS MORTEL
Born in San Agustin, Romblon, Hans’ interest in performing arts started way back his teenage years. He was an active member of Manila Science High School Glee Club and a band member during his college days. He was a BS Psychology junior at the University of the Philippines Diliman when he decided to work full-time as a band member, which later on made him leave school.
After jamming with several bands, Hans found himself on-stage entertaining people as a stand-up comedian—singing dancing, acting, hosting, and interacting with a live crowd. He spent eight years as a performing artist and host of The Library, the legendary comedy bar where some of the most popular Filipino comedians came from. Presently, Hans performs at Sitcom Live in Las Piñas City and in Quezon City-based comedy bars Punchline and Laffline.
As a professional stand-up comedian, Hans values the importance of responsibility and sensibility to everything he does on stage. According to him, he makes an effort to entertain and spread laughter without being offensive to the crowd in general. True enough, he managed to gain loyal supporters who follow him in his gigs.
Aside from comedy bars, Hans is now seen and heard on the AM band via DZMM’s pre-dawn counseling program Lovelines, alongside Jon Ibañez. Considering that this is his first gig on radio, Hans immensely appreciates the fact that he does not only enjoy doing the job but learns so much from it as well.
