RICKY ROSALES
Deserving and inspiring. These two words closely describe Ricky Rosales’ journey towards his dream career. From being a diligent student assistant at his alma mater, he now joins the ranks of DZMM’s formidable roster of newscasters.
Unlike other kids, Ricky was never disheartened about his family’s financial difficulties. In fact, it further motivated him to strive hard and persevere to reach his goals. For four years, he was a working student at the Lyceum of Batangas, where he was taking up AB Mass Communication. He was attending his classes at night and doing clerical and technical tasks as a student assistant in the morning. The skills and the discipline that he gained from the experience made him more committed in making his dreams happen and well equipped in facing the challenges of the real world.
After his graduation in 2004, Ricky was hired as a broadcaster and assistant marketing officer of DZBR Radyo Balisong in Batangas City. A year after, he became part of Aliw Broadcasting Corporation under DWIZ 882, where he served for four years as a broadcaster and news writer. In DWIZ, he used to be the main host and writer of the documentary show Siyasat and co-anchor of Ratsada Balita. He also anchored Balita 882. It was in April 2009 when Ricky signed up with DZMM. He currently hosts its hourly newsbreaks via DZMM Balita Ngayon and Radyo Patrol Balita Alas Dose with Angelo Palmones.
Apart from being a DZMM newscaster, Ricky shares his knowledge and skills in broadcasting by serving as an educator to various academic institutions. He gives back his life’s blessings by being a good role model and an inspiration to his students aspiring to be like him. Ricky is a lecturer at the Centro Escolar University’s Mass Communications Department and part-time instructor at Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Broadcast Communication and University of Makati’s College of Performing and Digital Arts. He is also frequently invited as speaker in several news writing and broadcasting seminars.
