FR. TITO CALUAG
Father Carmelo “Tito” Caluag is a true blue Atenean. He graduated from the Ateneo Grade School in 1972, Ateneo High School in 1976, and earned his AB Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Ateneo de Manila College in 1980. Certainly “a man for others,” his track record proves his significant contributions to the various communities and organizations as a priest, educator, inspirational speaker, and public servant.
Right after his college graduation, Fr. Tito, as he is fondly called, served his alma matter as a faculty member of Ateneo de Manila High School from 1980 to 1983. He was ordained a priest on April 17, 1993.
After several teaching and administrative stints, he was appointed as administrator of the University in 1995 and held the position until 2005.
Fr. Tito pursued higher studies and earned his masters in Educational Administration from Fordham University, New York in 1994 and is a PhD candidate finishing his dissertation under the Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies at the Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington.
It was in 2004 when Fr. Tito became part of ABS-CBN as co-host of the youth-oriented debate talk show, "Y-Speak," where he sat as its resident “Wais Speaker.” He is presently an independent Board of Director of ABS-CBN, station’s chaplain, coordinator for public service integration, managing director of 71 Dreams Foundation, and co-anchor of DZMM’s Aksyon Ngayon Global Patrol, where he is regarded as the program’s “Padre Kapamilya.”
